Apocalyptica - Creeping Death (Live)
Apocalyptica is a Finnish band consisting of three, formerly four, classically trained cellists and, since 2003, a drummer. Their speciality is metal music played on cellos, though they also play classical music. They are all former students of the Sibelius Academy in Helsinki.
Their first album, Plays Metallica by Four Cellos, consisted solely of Metallica covers. For their second album Inquisition Symphony, they added covers of Faith No More, Sepultura and Pantera, as well as three original songs. For their fourth album, Reflections, they developed their style of cello rock further; adding drums and developing a more electronic sound, instead of the previous acoustic style arrangement found on Inquisition Symphony and Cult.

Disturbed - Land of Confusion
The most recent and arguably most notable cover version of Genesis' Land of Confusion was released by the band Disturbed in July 2006, as the third single from their album Ten Thousand Fists. It was accompanied by a music video animated by Todd McFarlane, known for his work with the Spawn comic book series. McFarlane had previously animated the video for "Do the Evolution" by Pearl Jam, and the "Land of Confusion" video has a very similar style. The song became their first #1 single on the Mainstream Rock Charts on October 26, 2006

But Wastin' Pigs Is Still Radical"). They are also acclaimed for their elaborate live shows featuring fursuits, balloons, puppets, video projections and complex stage light configurations. The New Pornographers - Use It
The New Pornographers are a predominantly Canadian indie rock group formed in 1997 in Vancouver, British Columbia. Their sound is highly influenced by such power pop bands as The Cars and Cheap Trick, although their songs are generally of a greater melodic and harmonic complexity. Carl Newman, who writes most of the band's material, has said, "When I seriously started to try to write songs, my main influences were, like, Burt Bacharach, Jim Webb, and Brian Wilson. Those were the guys I kinda looked at their music and went, 'What the hell are they doing here?' I was just fascinated by the structures and the harmonics."

James Joseph Brown, Jr. (May 3, 1933 – December 25, 2006), commonly referred to as "The Godfather of Soul", was an American entertainer recognized as one of the most influential figures in 20th-century popular music.

"Strange Fruit" began as a poem about the lynching of a black man written by a radical Jewish schoolteacher from the Bronx Abel Meeropol, who used the pen name Lewis Allan (the names of his two children, who died in infancy). "Strange Fruit" was written as a poem expressing his horror at the lynchings,and was first published in 1937 in The New York Teacher, a union magazine. Though Meeropol/Allan often asked others (notably Earl Robinson) to set his poems to music he set Strange Fruit to music himself and the song gained a certain success as a protest song in and around New York. Before Holiday was introduced to the song, it had been performed by Meeropol, by his wife, and by a black vocalist called Laura Duncan, who performed it at Madison Square Garden.

By this time, the punk rock movement was in full swing, and XTC had found their style, a unique brand of hyperactive pop mixed with funk, punk, ska, reggae, and art rock.

Code Monkey (A Clockwork Orange) - PG-rated
The Jargon File defines a code monkey as:
1. A person only capable of grinding out code, but unable to perform the higher-primate tasks of software architecture, analysis, and design. Mildly insulting. Often applied to the most junior people on a programming team.
2. Anyone who writes code for a living; a programmer.
3. A self-deprecating way of denying responsibility for a management decision, or of complaining about having to live with such decisions. As in “Don't ask me why we need to write a compiler in COBOL, I'm just a code monkey.”
The term can also apply to amateur computer programmers who stitch together snippets of code found on the internet and in books to make an application, without having an appreciation or understanding what the principles behind the code or the concept of coding are.

Cansei de Ser Sexy (Portuguese for I'm Tired of Being Sexy), also known as CSS, is a Brazilian band from São Paulo, where they benefited from unprecedent levels of hype on local newspapers and TV channels. The group mixes influences of Electro-Rock and other kinds of art, like design, cinema and fashion, putting the blend in humorous lyrics in English and Portuguese. The band is notorious for their emphasis on style, fashion and coolness (for 'coolness', see 'NME appeal' and ego), rather than musical ambitions. Their broken English compositions are sung with a strong Brazilian accent, which the fans say just adds a special appeal to the band.

There were a few overdubbed parts on Gish but Corgan began to really explore the possibilities of overdubbing with Siamese Dream; Corgan has stated that "Soma" alone contains up to 40 overdubbed guitar parts.

Regina Spektor - Fidelity
Spektor was born in Moscow, Russia, Soviet Union to a musical family. Her father, a photographer, was also an amateur violinist, and her mother was a music professor in a Russian conservatory; she now teaches at a public elementary school in Mount Vernon, New York. Her surname, Spektor, is derived from the Russian инспектор ("inspector"). (Jews who registered as inspectors with the Russian government received a favored status with respect to travel.)

Stone Sout - Get Inside
Get Inside was the first video released by the American Alternative Metal band Stone Sour. It was released in 2002, almost a decade after the band was first created.
Unlike the following single, Bother, the vocals for this song, by Taylor, are very similar to those he uses for Slipknot. On several occasions through the song, Taylor uses a type of growl and the verses of the songs are done in a nu-metal type style. The chorus comprises of Taylor screaming 'Get Inside' repeatedly.

Stone Sour - 30/30-150
Stone Sour (named after an alcoholic-drink consisting of one part whisky, a splash of orange juice and sour mix) was originally formed in 1992 by Corey Taylor and drummer Joel Ekman. Taylor's long time friend, Shawn Economaki, joined shortly after, and filled in as the bass player. The band had played clubs and bars with various different guitarists - often filling the position for just one show. During this time, Stone Sour recorded two demo tapes, in 1992 and 1994. Shortly after in 1995, James Root - who would later join Taylor in Slipknot - joined the band. The group was complete, and in 1996 recorded another demo tape, and songs from which would later be used in 2002 on their self titled debut album, Stone Sour.
In 1997 the band disbanded when Taylor left to join Slipknot, who were another up-and-coming act in Des Moines at the time who were to soon earn a record deal. Root also joined the band a year later, and Economaki went on to become their stage manager.
