Belle & Sebastian - The Boy With The Arab Strap

An Arab strap is a sexual device usually made of leather and a metal ring that is fastened or cinched around the penis. Its purpose is two-fold: usually to help sustain an erection by keeping the shaft engorged, and for clitoral stimulation during coitus.

Note that placing metal rings around the penis is potentially hazardous, due to the danger of the penis becoming irreversibly engorged, thus cutting off the blood supply to the penis and leading to necrosis of the penis unless the ring is removed prior to irreversible damage occurring.

DJ Ted Stevens Techno Remix: "A Series of Tubes"

Partial text of Stevens' comments on the Internet

"Ten movies streaming across that, that internet, and what happens to your own personal internet? I just the other day got...an internet was sent by my staff at 10 o'clock in the morning on Friday, I got it yesterday. Why? [...] They want to deliver vast amounts of information over the Internet. And again, the Internet is not something you just dump something on. It's not a big truck. It's a series of tubes.
And if you don't understand those tubes can be filled and if they are filled, when you put your message in, it gets in line and it's going to be delayed by anyone that puts into that tube enormous amounts of material, enormous amounts of material."

Green Jelly - We Did It For The Cookie

The Tool connection

* Danny Carey from Tool was a member of Green Jellÿ for five years, and played drums on the album Cereal Killer. He is also featured in the video for "Electric Harley House (Of Love)", among others.

* Maynard James Keenan, vocalist for Tool, was also once a "member" of Green Jellÿ. On the song Three Little Pigs Maynard sang backing vocals (he sings the falsetto "Not by the hair of my chinny-chin-chin.") Maynard is also mentioned in the song "Green Jello Sucks" in the lyric "Maynard, and Poopie - they're both insane!"

* The song "Message To Harry Manback" on Tool's Ænima album was a real message left on Gary Helsinger's (Hotsy Menshot) answering machine by a friend of a friend from Italy who was stealing his roommate's belongings. "Harry Manback" is a reference to Gary Helsingers more-than-ample back hair. Bill and Gary were once roommates with Maynard James Keenan and Danny Carey.

* Tool was signed to the same label as Green Jellÿ, the now-defunct Zoo Entertainment.

* Tool's first EP had songs recorded live at the Green Jello loft(which is noted on the cd).

Blue Man Group - I Feel Love

"I Feel Love" is origonally a song by Donna Summer, taken from her 1977 concept album I Remember Yesterday. The song originally symbolised the 'future' segment of the album, which loosely depicted a musical trip through time.

Blue Man Group have Annette Strean of Venus Hum along for the ride on this song
