SoulWax - NY Excuse
Faithless - God Is A DJ

The three principal members of Faithless are Maxi Jazz, Sister Bliss and Rollo. Jazz acts as a vocalist mostly rapping and elevates the euphoric, ambient music to a spiritual and socio-political level with many of his lyrics; Bliss, as arguably the most popular female DJ not to mention her talents in playing the piano, violin, saxophone and bass, constructs most of the music while Rollo heads and produces the band's genre-defying sound. Lead female vocals for many of their songs are peformed by Pauline Taylor, who also peformed lead vocals for singles Rollo released under his monikers Rollo Goes Mystic and Rollo Goes Spiritual.
Massive Attack-Unfinished Sympathy

* The percussion loop is the 'belly break' sampled from "Take Me To The Mardi Gras" by Bob James, a cover version of Paul Simon's "Take Me To The Mardi Gras" which was also used by Run DMC on "Peter Piper"[3]
* The group were forced to change their name due to the outbreak of the Gulf War in 1991. They were briefly known as "Massive", and it is that name which features on the cover of this single[4]
* The voice at the beginning of the song is a sample of John McLaughlin, whose voice was sampled without clearance [5]
* The song has also been remixed by Paul Oakenfold and Nellee Hooper
* The song has been covered by Tina Turner

Eric Idle - Fuck the FCC

The FCC Song is a deliberately controversial and explicit song by British-born Monty Python comic Eric Idle. Idle, who later became a resident of the U.S. state of California, recorded the song in early 2004 in reaction to a fine by the U.S. Federal Communications Commission (FCC) for saying "fuck" on a Clear Channel radio station. The song is also known by its refrain "fuck you very much". Despite being aimed at the FCC, the lyrics primarily target well-known figures associated with the George W. Bush administration. Idle stated about the song that

"...it's dedicated to the FCC and if they broadcast it, it will cost a quarter of a million dollars".
Marilyn Manson - mOBSCENE

In December 1996, a press conference was called by William J. Bennett, Senator Joseph Lieberman, and activist C. DeLores Tucker, aimed at MCA, the owner of Interscope Records. Calling several albums released by the label — including Antichrist Superstar — "profane", "violent", "filth", and "crap",[20] the group questioned MCA president Edgar Bronfman, Jr.'s ability to head the label competently while profiting from such material. That November 6, U.S. Senate Subcommittee on Oversight of Government Management and Restructuring held a public hearing on the effect of violent rock and rap lyrics on youths. Supporters of the band claim it was merely another salvo in Senator Lieberman's declared war on the band. The hearing, chaired by Representative Sam Brownback, featured the testimony of Lieberman and Tucker, and of Raymond Kuntz, of Burlington, North Dakota, who blamed his son's suicide on Antichrist Superstar, which Lieberman denounced as "vile, hateful, nihilistic and damaging"

PIL - This Is Not A Love Song

Public Image Ltd. (PiL) is an English rock band formed in 1978 by vocalist John Lydon (ex-Sex Pistols), guitarist Keith Levene (ex-The Clash), and bassist Jah Wobble. PiL is commonly regarded as one of the most challenging and innovative bands of the post-punk period.
Joy Division - Love Will Tear Us Apart

Joy Division were an English rock band formed in 1976 in Salford, Greater Manchester. The band dissolved in May 1980 after the suicide of its lead singer, Ian Curtis. The remaining members reformed as New Order and they have gone on to achieve much critical and commercial success.

With their dark, cavernous sound and their use of synthesizers and electronics, Joy Division is considered the pioneering band of the post-punk movement of the late 1970s and the early 1980s. Though they found only modest success during their career, and released only two studio albums, Joy Division have since been acclaimed as one of the most inventive, evocative and influential groups of their era; Thom Jurek writes "They left just a small bit of music and an echo that still rings"
